Our Story

After her second mission trip to church-orphan homes in Cambodia in January of 2014 , Dee Benton found her heart bursting with a love for the nations that could not be contained. Her passion was contagious and quickly spread to her two daughters, Faith and Rachel.  Together, they began to realize that friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even perfect strangers, were eager to know more about what God is doing around the world. It became only more and more apparent that others shared a desire to love the nations as well—

it was time to take action. By August of 2014 God had made a way for Dee, Faith, and Rachel to visit the church-orphan homes in Cambodia TOGETHER! While on mission, all three of their hearts were united with a desire to take Dare to Love a step further... In September 2014, The Dare to Love Project became an official non-profit in the state of Washington.

Throughout the first decade of being a non-profit, The Dare to Love Project has served numerous places around the world including Cambodia, Romania, Nicaragua, and throughout the United States, including our own hometown, giving respite to caregivers serving in a variety of organizations.

And the rest is history!

To this day, we continue to find creative ways to serve caregivers locally in Thurston County and beyond. We have 1 for 1 Air Bnb program that allows caregivers to find rest and stay at our “Haven” for little to no cost. We are also training two therapy dogs to help us spread the love and provide respite in their own way.
